Did that title catch your attention? Who doesn’t want to read about babies, right? No, we’re not luring you in with a catchy title to trick you into reading about Edmonton mortgage rates as we are indeed here to talk about babies on this week’s Team Love blog entry from Edmonton Properties.
Recent reports continue to show that Alberta has the highest birth rate in the country. Apparently all of the young professional couples and families that move here to take advantage of the economic boom are pretty busy during their “leisurely” hours. Love is in the air and with it comes bundles of joy. Nowhere is this more true than right here in our ever-growing metropolis of Edmonton.
So why weigh in on this continuing trend today? Well last week the Calgary Herald reported on the Edmonton baby business boom and it validated what our team had been noticing over the last few months into this current Central Alberta summer. In addition to the growing population of glowing faced couples pushing strollers up and down the downtown core, Sir Winston Churchill Sqaure, and at every festival that makes its way through the city this season, there has been a big boost in baby based retail. This infant boom in commercial business has sparked interest from retailers from all over North America that already consider Edmonton to be a viable long term market for their stores. From Build-a-Bear Workshop to Gymboree to more fashionable alternatives like Justice for the 7 to 14 year old set retail shops are popping up left and right, and staying put. Even West Edmonton Mall’s themepark attractions are receiving benefit. Factor in the fact that Central Alberta’s birth rate will continue to dominate and you’ve all but guaranteed a customer base well into the future. Regardless their (retailers) profit intentions, families benefit by having more shopping options which leads to more competitive pricing, making Edmonton an even more affordable place to raise their tots.
The next logical conclusion that you may wonder about is with respect to Edmonton real estate. Has our office noticed a shift in realty trends? You bet. We have been receiving a bevy of inquiries from new families about single family detached homes as they excitedly prepare to transition from Edmonton condos into a home that’s ready to hold a growing number of members. For us, that’s the most rewarding part of the job.
Team Love specializes in finding homes for young families and with this continuing Central Aberta baby boom we’ll be helping fulfill new home owner dreams well into the future. All you have to do is keep busy in supporting the strong birth rate of the province (wink wink, nudge nudge) and remember to contact Edmonton Properties Team Love when you’re ready for that big transition.
